LNG marine fuel system for crane vessel

Cryonorm receives the order from Neptune Shipyard to supply the LNG fuel system on-board a new crane-vessel, named Werkendam.

The Werkendam will be van Oord's first LNG-powered vessel. It will generally be deployed to the Netherlands-based projects executed by subsidiary Paans Van Oord.

Paans Van Oord is specialist in dredging, coastal and quay works.

With a 38 cubic metres tank on the aft deck, the Werkendam will be able to store enough LNG on board to sail and operate for fourteen days without bunkering LNG.

Energy efficiency is one of the top items on Van Oord's sustainability agenda. To reduce their carbon footprint, Van Oord is looking for alternative fuels such as LNG and biofuel. With this investment, both Van Oord and Neptune Shipyard will gain experience of LNG-powered vessels and the related benefits.

Cryonorm has a long back ground in developing and supplying marine LNG fuel systems, the Werkendam is no. 24 in the row of marine LNG references.
